We’re inviting the UK to support rising champions training for 2012 and 2008.

During the Winter Olympics TV audiences were able to watch overlays of downhill skiers, giving a dramtic view of just how close some of the races were.

We're recreating this experience in a new format by capturing data from athletes using technology available on phones today. And allowing viewers to follow the progress of local champions, comparing their times exactly with racers all over the country.

By identfying and supporting these local champions, we build awareness of their struggle to become the best, and create media interest, essential for sponsorship.

The tools will be available to all viewers, allowing non-athletes to set goals and match their skills against the best. This competition is an essential part of motivation.

For our couch potato, we provide the "find a buddy" tool to help get people out of their homes and into their community. People can post their runs, ride, walks etc to the supporting web site for others to try in their own time.

But watching is not enough, we're asking you to get actively involved by organising your own events. We'll even find a buddy for you of your level that you can train against, who may be anywhere in the country.
